Thought For Today “When We Forget God Remembers”

Deuteronomy 24:19 When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

The key to real Christian living lies in our giving to bless others. God guarantees us a harvest that will benefit us and bless those who aren’t in the same position as we are. The Lord is saying that by chance you become mindful that you gave more to a cause than expected, He says don’t go back and ask for the extra amount you inadvertently gave. You blessing came from the abundant harvest He gave you. The Lord blessed YOU with so much that your hands couldn’t contain it all. If by chance some of your blessings slip through your fingers just know God has earmarked it for someone who really needed it.

Long years ago, I was so hungry and couldn’t wait until it was lunch time. In my haste to unwrap the sandwich that my mouth was watering to consume, it dropped out of my hands on to the ground. I know some of you were thinking just rub off the dirt and kiss it towards heaven. Well, it just happened that it fell in the mud. What looked like a lost so I thought, was a blessing to the ants and birds who patiently waited for my departure. Hey, you never know if the ants and birds prayed for a blessing that day. (smiles) I looked on the bright side because I packed two sandwiches that day.

As fast as we can bless others, God is even more anxious to give us an abundant harvest to make it happen. PLEASE READ these Scriptures and claim your harvest today:

II Chronicles 26:5

II Chronicles 31:10

Job 36:11

Psalms 81:10; 92:12-14

Isaiah 44:3; 58:11

Ephesians 3:20
