Thought For Today “God‘s End Justifies His Means”

Ruth 1:1-22

What do you do when you don’t know what to do? Friends attempt to supply answers to questions you didn’t ask while questions loom in the heart you wish you had answers for. What do you do? The most we can do in the time allotted is live and die. How we choose to live our lives each day clearly determines our fate. In between times, God has set before the opportunity and chance of a lifetime, salvation!

Look carefully at these verses 3 And Elimelech Naomi's husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. 4 And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one [was] Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. 5 And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

Just this morning a friend shared with me a family going through the same situation Naomi went through. Why? Seem to be the only question the mind is forced to recognize at the time. This morning I want us to know and understand that God can handle our questions. When we’re forced to face the inevitable and the unexpected ,God goes beneath the anticipated hurt and pain AHEAD of it reaching us and prepares the soul for it. In our pain and dark moments, we cry His name because deep in the soul is where He hangs out awaiting your beckoning call.

In this life we’re going to have trials we have no answers for. The depth of our time spent with the Lord prior to our trials usually reveal itself IN the trial. Time spent with God through meaningful and heartfelt prayer aids us in critical times we we’re expecting. Through it all, God is working His eternal plan while the heart is yet tender and receptive though hurting. When we’re hit with trials, there is a tendency to stop and reflect. Life slows down and we can hear ourselves think. While Naomi was going THROUGH IT, God carried her though she didn’t recognize it. Listen to her pain in this verse 13, she says, ….“for the hand of the Lord is gone out against me”.

Have you ever lived on this street or been down this boulevard? If you haven’t you will. Trials are not designed to reveal a CRISIS, but the crisis is designed to reveal CHRIST in the crisis! When you and I have been placed in the fiery furnace of life, please remember that the flames kindled against you were sent by God to burn the ropes that had you bound while in the fire! When a heathen king can see a “fourth person” in your trial that resembles Jesus, then His End Justifies His Means!

When we can see God in our storm and pain, we don’t see it as punishment for doing good or bad, but God is simply repositioning us for His next move in our lives. It’s hard to see how this is working for our good when we’re in it and feeling the effects of it. What we feel is temporal, but what God is planning is eternal in its consequences, I Corinthians 2:9.

These verses help us understand God’s “END”, though His “MEANS” may challenge us because of a loved one who died or any other unforeseen circumstances. Note these powerful verses of hope and healing, I Peter 1:7-13 and 2 Corinthians 4:16-18. It’s important and imperative that you read these verses to understand God’s End!

Here’s the conclusion to the whole matter. In the end you and I will live with the Lord throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity. We will NEVER bother with death, suffering, trials, pain, hurt, and sickness no more. His “MEANS” of saving us from ourselves may hurt for a night, but joy unspeakable will justify His “END” or will for our lives. If I lose everything in this life, at least I know on resurrection morning God will do a “NEW THING”!

So go ahead devil and take your best SHOT, but thanks be to God for being in the best position to get the REBOUND!
